Pride in Tenerife: The Santa Cruz March and LGBTQ+ Events

Tenerife’s Pride march takes place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in late June, with a festival afterwards, and the island council runs Pride month events across Tenerife in June. It’s a local, community-focused Pride rather than a huge international party — for that, many visitors head to Maspalomas Pride in Gran Canaria in May. Drag shows run all year in the south.

The Santa Cruz Pride march

In 2025 the march was held on Saturday 29 June under the slogan “Against hate, pride and community”:

• Start: 6pm, Plaza Weyler
• Route: Calle Méndez Núñez, the Ramblas of Santa Cruz and Avenida Francisco La Roche
• Finish: Plaza del Cabildo, with the manifesto reading on the main stage of the Pride festival
• Symbolic stops: Parque García Sanabria, linked to Tenerife’s first Pride march in 1978

The 2027 date and route will be announced in spring. Check the island council’s channels nearer the time.

Pride month events

Tenerife’s island council (Cabildo) has hosted LGBTQ+ Pride month events across the island in June, from talks and exhibitions to concerts. Puerto de la Cruz has also hosted an island LGBTI Pride demonstration in Plaza del Charco in past years.
