About Plaza de los Remedios
Plaza de los Remedios is the main square of Buenavista del Norte, the quiet town at Tenerife's far north-western tip, a short drive west of Garachico. It sits in the middle of the historic quarter, framed by traditional Canarian buildings and the parish church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, and it is where local life gathers. The square was paved in the mid-20th century, and its central pavilion is used for live music.
The plaza is busiest during the Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, the town's patron saint festival, which runs from mid-October into early November. Over those weeks the programme includes concerts, verbenas (open-air dances), children's games, a parade, a band contest and fireworks, alongside the religious processions. Events are free and open to everyone.
Outside fiesta time, Plaza de los Remedios is a relaxed place to stop on a day trip to the Teno area. The beaches at Las Arenas and the coastal walking routes around Buenavista are close by.
