About Casino de La Laguna
The Casino de La Laguna is not a gambling venue. It is a historic cultural, recreational and sports society, founded in 1899 and one of the city's best-known social institutions. It has been awarded the gold medals of both the city and the island of Tenerife.
The society occupies a handsome building on Calle Nava y Grimón with an eclectic, largely modernist design. A garden courtyard on the corner works as a terrace café-bar, and there is also a restaurant on site. Its calendar includes concerts, talks, workshops and traditional celebrations such as the May Crosses festival announcement, as well as summer camps and sports activities for members.
The Casino is just a few steps from Plaza del Adelantado, at the heart of La Laguna's UNESCO World Heritage old town. It is easy to combine a visit with the cathedral, the Iglesia de la Concepción and the shops and cafés of Calle Obispo Rey Redondo and Calle Herradores.
